Lil' Ninjas & Kinder Kickers Programs

Lil' Ninjas & Kinder Kickers Programs

Our ninja program is for children who are 4 and 5 years of age and the kinder kickers program is for children who are 6 and 7 years old.

We understand that children at this age all have different levels of focus, control, coordination, abilities and needs.

These programs are designed to teach character development, leadership and decision making skills, as well as prepare them to learn martial arts and our curriculum in the level one classes.

Both programs have their own belt system that consists of nine belts. The students will promote to the next level on an 8 week cycle, provided that they full fill the attendance requirements, and are showing improvement. There are three ways for a ninja to promote to kinder kicker, and kinder kicker to promote to level one.

1) The student successfully completes all nine levels. He/She then tests into the next program.
2) The student has a birthday and is ready to move into the next program
3) The master instructor feels this student has strong abilities and is ready for a greater challenge

We are very confident that you will see positive changes in your child after only a few weeks of classes. Remember, however, that a child’s development takes time, patience and care.

What will my child learn?
Every week during the students 8 week cycle we will focus on a different theme. All of the drills, games and floor chats are designed to include:

* Focus
* Coordination
* Respect
* Self-Discipline
* Control
* Self-Defense
* Team Work
* Fitness
* Balance
* Memory
* And more!
During the week the students will earn a “curriculum stripe” on their belt to show that they have completed the theme. Each stripe is color coordinated with the theme. When students complete a homework assignment they are awarded a “power stripe”.

While the classes are only a half hour, the test will range from 45 min. to one hour. During the test students will demonstrate and recite curriculum learned in class for selected themes. At the end of the test the students will receive their new belt and a certificate of rank.

Meet Mike Welch, Head of Infinity Martial Arts

Meet Mike Welch, Head of Infinity Martial Arts

Born in Madison WI in 1981 Mr. Mike Welch began karate at age 9 under the instruction of Mr. Randy Beck. His parents got him lessons as a Christmas present.

Mr. Welch won his first karate tournament as a white belt in the forms division. This was only the start of a long successful career.

During the next few Mr. Welch and his father (Paul Welch) were heavily involved in competition. Competing in the Wisconsin Professional Karate Association (WPKA) Mr. Welch was ranked in the top three for forms and sparring from white belt through black belt. In 1995 he was ranked number one in both. Not yet a weapons stylist, Mr. Welch won his first NASKA Diamond Nationals, placing 1st in his forms divisions. He was a brown stripe belt.

Mr. Welch earned his Black Belt on March 30, 1996 at age 14. At this time he was still competing at the state/regional level. His father, a more traditional martial artist, helped him compare and contrast their two styles to broaden his knowledge. Mr. Welch also began studying Modern Arnis, a Philippine art that focuses on stick fighting and joint locks. He was awarded his instructors certification and brown belt by the late Grandmaster Remi Presas.

In 1998, Mr. Welch was a co-founder of Wisconsin’s first national competition team known as Team X-treme. Team X-treme was known nation wide for its extreme martial arts (XMA) team forms fused with high action and tight percision. The team was a regular on the Diamond Nationals grand champion stage, winning the team form division several years in a row.

After co-owning and running Karate America Wisconsin Rapids with his father from 1998 to 2004, and being Chief Instructor in Fitchburg WI for three years Mr. Welch found that it was time to do it for himself. Now April of 2007 is born Infinity Martial Arts.
