Like Rowe's authentic designs, the salt-glaze firing process uses traditional methods to create the historic pottery. The salt glazefiring process has been traced to 12th century Germany and was brought to the United States for use by early American artisans. Using this process is another step in Rowe's commitment to re-creating pottery with historical roots. Some of the product lines are offered in the classic blue and grey from the Early American era, or choose from limited edition collections. All pottery is handcrafted in Cambridge with a hand-thrown and decorated method, the same process that was used 150 years ago.
